    SPECIAL EDUCATION ATTORNEY & LEGAL SUPPORT

    Nicole Joseph is an education attorney who has dedicated her career to representing children and students with disabilities. She primarily represents students in the special education process and in school discipline concerns and appeals. Nicole often represents students with dyslexia and other learning disabilities, autism, ADHD, twice-exceptional (2e) students, and students with emotional and behavioral concerns in Maryland public schools.

    Nicole became an education attorney after working in schools, representing hundreds of children in special education, and school discipline cases at Disability Rights Maryland. She has also experienced the frustrations of the special education process as a parent.

    Nicole’s team includes two other attorneys who are also mothers themselves! Their practice areas include education law, special education law, school discipline, juvenile justice, reading intervention, higher education, accommodations(k-12) and section 504 plans.

    Dr. Megan Burleson is a psychologist at Kentlands Psychotherapy. She previously practiced as a school psychologist with the Howard County Public School System. There, she worked for several years as a school psychologist at a large high school with a specialized program for teens with Emotional Disabilities. Dr. Burleson offers her clients a unique portfolio of psychological testing, coaching, and therapy services at the practice.

    Megan Burleson, PhD, approaches therapeutic relationships with warmth, authenticity, respect, and dignity. She specializes in supporting youth with anxiety, depression, ADHD, learning disorders and disabilities. In addition, she assists those struggling to manage stress, peer relationships, and the development of executive functioning. Specifically, she works with children and adolescents in middle school and above and young adults.

    Moreover, Dr. Burleson’s expertise extends to comprehensive psychological and psychoeducational evaluations. In this work, she partners with families and school teams to navigate the complex world of special education and Section 504. Grounded in her belief that young people thrive when they feel empowered and their support systems are aligned, Dr. Burleson works tirelessly to shine a light on her client’s strengths, advocate for their needs, and facilitate meaningful home-school collaborations.

  • Heather Stackus, M.Ed., LCPC, NCC, NCSC

    Heather is a psychotherapist! She works with children, teens, millennials, GenZ’s, college aged, couples, and families! Heather helps with depression, anxiety, stress, career change, life transitions, feeling misunderstood, PTSD & C-PTSD, personality disorders, Autism/Asperger’s/GT, narcissistic personality disorder, and neurodivergent individuals.

    Heather was a professional school counselor for over 11 years and taught in higher education. She also working on my PhD in Counselor Education And Supervision. She is a trauma informed therapist and a EMDR trained clinician. Heather uses EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) to instruct children aged 4+ utilizing a EMDR workbook.

    She can also help with Emotional Support Animal (ESA) applications! ‘

    Heather has immediate availability. She is out of network but can provide a superbill. She is able to provide an out of pocket cost too! Heather provides her services virtually.
